What we mean by ‘natural paints’:
- high-performing modern paints
- made from natural raw ingredients
- coloured by natural earth pigments
- very low or zero VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
Why we only supply natural paints:
- your health: VOCs and solvents in paints are known to be harmful to our health, and have been known to cause ‘painters dementia’ in people exposed to them over time, so we don’t want you putting these into your environment
- your house: by avoiding acrylics & synthetic polymers our paints are ‘breathable’, protecting the fabric of your house & adding to healthy air at home
- workers’ health: we don’t believe we should cause others to be exposed to concentrated levels of harmful substances in the production of goods on our behalf
- our environment: by avoiding non-natural products we do not add to any issues of water pollution from our paint at home, nor are we adding to the demand for any of these substances in the manufacturing process
- on-going sustainability: oil production is in decline and we don’t believe using oil to coat our walls is a sensible use of this incredibly valuable resource, and we think it’s responsible to be involved in creating viable alternatives
